Honduras Mission Trip Kim and Becky

By Kim Brannian and Becky Reed

Today was the most amazing day of our trip so far. This morning we helped the teachers with tutoring students in their classrooms at Llamado Eterno. We taught them the English words for Spanish words by acting them out. Then students wrote the words and reviewed them. Kolby did his famous yo-yo tricks and Holly's hair was a hit with everyone wanting to touch it.

In the afternoon we were so blessed to have the opportunity to be a blessing to the families of El Chacon when we delivered 20 lb. food bags door to door in teams. We worked together to carry the bags up steep terrain in pouring rain to enable us to ask these families how we could pray for them and invite them to church Saturday evening, Sunday school Sunday morning, and the celebration in the community Sunday afternoon.

The people were so thankful and welcoming, inviting us to stay and pulling up chairs for us to come in out of the rain and sit with them. The need here is so great, as there are so many who live with nothing. The biggest needs when we asked what we could pray for were health, food, and shelter. One man had no house, only a small tarp over a palm tree at the back of a neighbor's house. Another man asked us to please pray for him to be closer to Jesus. When we asked if he had a bible, he said he didn't because he cannot read. We prayed that God will make a way, even though it seems like there's no way, because that's what our God does. There are many babies and children who are sick with fevers and diarrhea, as well as elderly who are sick because of lung problems, diabetes, and high blood pressure.

It is our continued prayer that God will shower this country and its people will an abundance of His blessings, physical, emotional, and spiritual, in Jesus' precious name we pray. Amen.
